A new husband and wife team, Gail and Les Errity, has taken over the Inn On The Green in Acomb.

Gail and her family’s connection with the pub stretches back many years, with her sister working there as a barmaid for 17 years and her brother as a glass collector when he was a teenager.

Gail said: “My mum also used to run the local darts team. I was even christened and married at the church next door, so I feel I have a lot of affinity with the pub.”

To celebrate Gail’s 52th birthday and the start of their tenancy, the pub will be hosting a one-off celebration from 7.30pm tonight, with a live band and free buffet.
