A gas-fuelled Vauxhall car caught fire on Burton Stone Lane, Clifton, on Saturday afternoon. Acomb firefighters put out the blaze.
Shortly before, Selby firefighters were unable to prevent a blaze completely destroying a car in The Hawthorns, Selby.
Both blazes are believed to have been started by electrical faults.
