PROSPECTIVE parliamentary candidates for the Harrogate and Knaresborough constituency will be quizzed by business people when the chamber of trade and commerce holds an election call at the Old Swan Hotel at 6pm next Monday.
Lib Dem’s Helen Flynn, Conservative Andrew Jones, Green Shan Oakes, UKIP’S David Simister and Labour candidate Jan Williams will introduce themselves to the business community before face questions on a range of issues.
Chamber chief executive Brian Dunsby said there were numerous issues facing businesses in Harrogate at the moment, from business rates and taxes to the availability of employment land, and frustration with local traffic and transport.
“As well as finding out the candidates’ views on these topics, our Election Call is a great opportunity for businesses to raise the issues which are important to them and ensure all of the candidates know what their priorities should be if they are elected on May 7.”
Places must be booked by emailing info@harrogatechamber.org and questions for the candidates can also be submitted in advance to the same address.
