THOUSANDS of people registered to vote in York for the General Election in the four days before the registration deadline.
Between April 16 and April 20, 3,910 people rushed to register on the electoral roll for York Central and York Outer, ahead of the midnight deadline on Monday.
A total of 152,276 people have now registered to vote in both parliamentary constituencies, up from 143,140 in December 2014.
The National Electoral Commission counted nearly half a million people registering to vote across the UK on deadline day.
