A DRIVER escaped major injury after her car hit a concrete pillar outside a supermarket this afternoon.
Police were called to the Tesco store on Acomb Wood Drive in Woodthorpe just after 1.15pm today.
No passengers or other people were injured, a police spokesman said, and the driver was left with only minor injuries.
