Bootham A' have virtually sealed the NEDL York and District Table Tennis League division one title and seem to be frightening away the opposition, after a whitewash of a two-man Groves A', and a 9-1 win over Sessions A' who were similarly depleted.

In division two, Railway D' picked up a vital 7-3 win at Holgate D' in the bid to ease clear of the drop zone. Nigel Reeson and Ian Castle, taken to five games in all their sets, were unbeaten.

Poppleton B' - another team in trouble - too pulled off a notable victory, upsetting Railway C' 7-3.

Division three promotion-seekers Holgate A' saw off close rivals BT A' 6-4 in which Vic Reed and Terry Botting conjured worthy victories.

BT B' picked up a terrific draw at Bootham B' with Jim Stevenson in excellent form, winning his singles. A terrific display from Brian Milner had earlier seen him win all three singles and doubles for BT B' in their draw with promotion-chasing BT A', who bounced back with a whitewash of Poppleton C'. Howard Broadbent, Dave Norville and Terry Botting were all undefeated.

Groves C' whitewashed BT B' in achieving their best result of the season. Paul Kozyra, Chris Hutchinson and Mike Surtees were all successful.

Division four is building to an exciting climax, and Sessions C' retained their promotion place with a 7-3 win over Groves D', with Pete Taylor undefeated.

Holgate D' kept up the pressure with an 8-2 success over two-man Railway G', who remain anchored to the foot of the table. They also fielded only two players in a 7-3 reverse at Groves D'.

NEDL Bootham maintained their good form at the top, with a 6-4 win over Sessions C', although Dick Kendall is pushing Alan Wren at the top of the averages after winning three for the losers.
