STAMFORD Bridge Under-13s have proved they definitely have "bouncebackability".
The youngsters have stormed to the division three championship in the York British Sugar Minor Football League - only a year after suffering the heartbreak of relegation.
A full squad of 18 youngsters has been turning out week in and week out for Bridge and their commitment has been borne out on the pitch, where the team has won 18 of its 21 games in this campaign, scoring an astonishing 126 goals.
Even more amazing, 72 of those strikes have come from top scorer, and skipper, Fraser Papprill and Bridge have been electrifying the league with their high scoring play.
In their last game, against basement outfit Rawcliffe, Stamford Bridge actually trailed 3-1 at half-time until their super striker came off the bench and netted four in the second period.
For manager Jason Papprill, Fraser's dad, it has been a fantastic season.
"It's been about consistency," he said. "Consistent performances every week. We have got a good, strong defence marshalled by Daniel Doughty and we have got a good goalkeeper in Dan Poole.
"The midfield is great as well and, hopefully, we can go up to division two and play just as good football as we have done this season. We had a bit of an up and down season a year ago and we lost a lot of games 1-0 and 2-1.
"This year, we have been winning games by bigger margins and hopefully we can carry that form forward next season."
