LADY Lumley's School, Pickering, reached the semi-finals of the Scarborough and District Year 7 netball tournament.
They lost narrowly to overall winners Ryedale in a thrilling game which was decided in extra time during a day of high skill at Graham School, Scarborough.
Lady Lumley's started their campaign with a 4-4 draw with Whitby-based Caedmon School before beating Eskdale 2-1.
The Lumley's eight-man squad - Rhiannon Williams, Sian King, Beth Breckon, Carla Connor, Holly Duddell, Bethany Turner, Rachel Lund and Jessica Pilmer were growing in confidence and demolished Malton School 9-0 in thier next match.
That earned them a semi-final against Ryedale and the two sides did not disappoint the spectators and they fought out an exciting encounter which Ryedale edged 5-4 in the extra period.
* Lady Lumley's Under-12 footballers fought back in vain as they lost 4-2 to Eskdale.
Lumley's trailed 2-0 at half-time but levelled just after half-time only for Eskdale to pull away and regain their two-goal advantage.
