A MIDDLE-AGED man was injured after trying to fight a fire at his house in York.
The blaze started in the loft of a semi-detached house in Waterdale Park, Huntington, at about 2pm yesterday.
It spread to the neighbouring home and caused severe damage to the upper and ground floors of both houses. The man, in his 50s, was treated by crews from North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service before being taken to York Hospital by paramedics.
Two crews from York and one from Huntington attended the scene and extinguished the blaze by 6.20pm.
