THOUSANDS of people flocked to York this weekend to watch trains in miniature at the city's model railway show.
The annual event, which is in its 45th year, was held at the racecourse and about 2,000 people passed through its doors on Saturday. More than 40 detailed working layouts were on show at the three-day event, which finishes today.
One of the most impressive exhibits was the Hassell Harbour Bridge, which measured 41ft by 15ft and cost £37,000.
Organiser Mike Cook, who is a member of Friends of York Model Railway Show, said: "This year the displays are more impressive than usual."
