MEMBERS of an up-and-coming band from York were met by a frenzy of fans in the city when they signed copies of their latest single.

Elliot Minor, a five-piece group comprised of lads who attended Pocklington School, and former York Minster choristers, celebrated the release of Parallel Worlds with the signing session.

More than 100 fans gathered at the HMV record shop, in Coney Street, where the pop-punk band autographed copies of the single, which was released on Monday.

Drummer Dan Hetherton said: "We have different formats of the single with us for signing. We've recorded a honky-tonk version, a live version, and an acoustic version, and we've also done a B-side, Wait Another Week."

Bass player Teddy Hetherton said momentum was building. "We have a street team of 1,000 people going round promoting everything. We had 12,000 plays on our MySpace site last week, and the total plays since February last year stand at 900,000," he said.
