MICK Green (Greens Fisheries) topped a Cyprio Lake-dominated fourth round of the Bob-Co Spring Series at Carpvale on Sunday.

Drawn on peg six, which had shown little recent form, he opted to fish cat meat at six metres into open water.

As a strong wind sprang up, fish in his corner of Cyprio began to stir and a late flurry of quality fish to 6lb saw him ease past Steve Pearson (AJ Tackle) with 63lb 12oz.

Pearson was drawn on peg 12 on the same lake and used a two-pronged attack, alternating small pieces of meat on pole at 12 metres with a feeder targeting the island cover at 30 metres for 56lb 4oz net.

Nathan Proctor (Harrogate Angling Services) completed the clean-sweep for Cyprio with a level 40lb from corner peg four. Again, meat proved effective as he nudged his bait into the near-side snags.

Craig Robinson (York Tackle) had top weight from the Match Lake with 39lb 12oz from peg 31. Fishing pellet down his own bank, he had small carp from underneath the platform on a vacant peg 30.

With water temperatures beginning to rise rapidly, the Langwith carp are getting their heads down and Roger Holmes recorded a great 103lb 9oz to finish at the top of a super frame.

Drawn 28 on Kevin's Lake, Holmes offered pellet across to the island to set about a shoal of carp to three pounds which responded within minutes of the start.

On the next peg, Dean Smith fished the same way and also got off to a flier but a slower strike rate saw him gradually lose ground and at the whistle he was well behind with 79lb 8oz.

Pegs on Partridge Lake won all three major events at the Woodlands complex this week.

The Wednesday open saw Josh Newton (Daiwa Cleveland) head home a 56-strong field from peg 15 where he tempted carp to 4lb fishing up in the water with meat at 14 metres.

Top match of the week was an amazing bag-up on Saturday when the top six all broke the 100lb barrier.

Tony Leeming (Daiwa Cleveland) was top of the tons from peg 28 where he hauled out 145lb 2oz of carp to 7lb on meat at 14 metres topped up on pellet at six metres.

York star Dean Smith (Garbolino Elton) continued his great recent form from peg ten on Skylark with a 118lb 2oz bag on meat fished up in the water at 13 metres.

Ron Wilkinson (Newman Scots) topped the Shimano Quaker League from peg seven. After bagging carp to 8lb on pellet at 13 metres, he kept in touch by switching to banded pellet on a waggler to out-distance his neighbours.
