I TAKE exception to Councillor Gil Nimmo's comments regarding the high cost of taxi journeys (Taxi fares to go up by four per cent, The Press, April 9). The mile-and-a-half journey he mentions would cost £4.12, and not £5 as he says.
In fact, the £5 that he quotes would take him in excess of two miles at the new rates. Shared between four people, this would probably be less expensive than the bus.
