A 15-year-old bowls ace has beaten many other bowlers - some four or five times his age to win the North of England Short Mat Bowling Singles championship.
David Newsome (pictured), a pupil of Barlby High School plays for North Duffield Bowls Club was representing North Yorkshire in the tournament along with three other bowlers from the area.
A bowler for six years he plays for Selby in the Yorkshire League and also has played for England Under-18s in matches against Hampshire, Norfolk and North Yorkshire.
This weekend he will be representing North Yorkshire in the National Fours Championship along with brother Joseph and two other bowlers.
David and Joseph, along with mum Jill, a former Yorkshire outdoor bowls champion, play outdoor bowls for the North Duffield club.
