I'VE just received the latest newsletter leaflet from the York Castle Area campaign.
Billed as an "Election Special", it encapsulates for me what local elections should be all about, namely local issues.
The leaflet lists a range of existing and prospective councillors, from across the political spectrum, who have supported the Castle Campaign, and encourages voting for these candidates irrespective of their respective political affiliations.
Even the Monster Raving Loony Party gets a favourable mention.
My support on May 3 will go to the Holgate ward candidate who most vigorously supports local concerns.
