The City of York Tennis Championships are to be held again this year after being absent from the local tennis calendar last year when the courts in Rowntree Park were being refurbished.
The event, formerly known as the York Municipal Tournament, will be played from July 9-14 with the exception of July 10 when York and District Mixed Doubles League are holding a tournament at 11 venues as part of the league's 50th anniversary.
Entry forms will be sent to all York and district clubs and the championships will include all the usual events plus over 50s men's and women's singles and doubles.
A new committee has been formed, headed by John Linfoot as chairman with Margaret Whitehead the referee and includes Phil Langley, Stuart Robertson and Karen Retief.
