A LAST minute try helped York RUFC Under-7s take a share of the spoils at Driffield Rugby Club's mini-festival.
In three keenly contested group matches, the young Clifton Parkers notched up a 6-5 victory over Driffield, saw off Hull Ionians 7-5 and Sandal 6-4 to reach the final.
There, they took on Ripon in a very tight contest with York snatching a try at the death to force a 6-6 tie - the Kingston Communications Trophy being jointly awarded to both undefeated teams afterwards.
Peter Atkin was York's player of the tournament, having scored nine tries. Other try scorers were Emma Hardy (6), Marcus Dobson (4), Alex Leahy (2), Sam Lloyd (2), Matthew Hume and Hugo McCartney.
