MALTON players cleaned up in the York ladies Veteran's Squash Championship.
Ruth Bielby upset the odds when she defeated top seed and champion Suzi Booth while Linda Craggs won the Plate competition.
The final was a great battle and after eight rallies in the first game it was still 0-0. Bielby won the serve and got into her stride, Booth only managed to gain points on her own service twice and Bielby took the game 9-2.
The second game was hard fought and evenly balanced with long rallies all the way through. Bielby had match ball at 8-7 and lost her service but Dunnington player Booth was unable to hold her serve and Bielby took the game 9-7.
The third game again was also tight with Booth leading 6-5 before Bielby went on to take the game and match 9-5. It capped a great season for Bielby, who won the Plate competition in the Open Championship.
Craggs made it a Malton double by defeating Sheila Clifford in three games.
