CUEBALL'S Tracey Farmeary and Angie Hields ruled the roost at the York John Smith's Ladies Darts League finals night.

Hields was crowned individual champion after a five-leg thriller against Farmeary, winning the first in 26 darts.

Farmeary responded with 2 x 135 for 20, Hields restored her advantage hitting 2 x 140 for 24. The finish eluded both players in the fourth leg before Farmeary slotted in a double ten close.

Both players started off nervously in the decider and could only manage one ton each before Hields slotted in a 48 finish to secure the title The two finalists then paired up to secure the captain and vice and pairs titles.

In the pairs they met Cygnet pairing Dawn Exton and Michelle Britton. Hields hit the big scores and relied on Farmeary to close both legs.

The dynamic duo's opponents in the captain and vice captain final were Clifton's Jo Hodges and Carol Price.

Hields finished to go one up but Hodges included scores of 125, 100 and hitting nothing under 81 put the pressure on only for finishing to let the Clifton combination down as Hields again crept up to close 60.

Farmeary was joined in the Elsie Bell competition by Clifton's Linda Embleton, their opponents being Ox's Sandra Bruce and Leeman's Ann Reagan.

Farmeary closed to win the first leg but a maximum from Bruce and a good double 18 finish from Reagan set up a decider.

Farmeary hit a 140 to give them an advantage before steady scoring from their rivals set up a thrilling finale with Reagan missing out on a double 16 finish. Embleton put the nerves to one side to slot in a double 18 finish.

Cygnet were represented by Roz Kerr, Lynda Kennelly and Julie Ashton in the triples where they met Britannia's Kay Stephenson, Louise Douglas and landlady Chris Moore.

Kerr was red hot in the opener including 140, 100 but a 37 finish from Douglas scuppered Cygnet. Brit were unlucky not to take the match 2-0 the second leg being a double one marathon, Kerr setting up a decider where she hit 125, 100 but was matched by Stephenson. The match went to the wire with Kerr closing 32 to seal the title.

Hields was crowned player of the night but was pushed close by Farmeary, Hodges, Stephenson and Bruce.
