Thank you for publicising the York Manifesto for Sport ("Sign up for sport" call, The Press, April 20).
Unfortunately your article gave the impression that I was somehow blaming the previous Labour administration for the loss of sports facilities in the city centre.
The main point I was making was that the York Sport And Leisure Campaign was formed because the current Liberal Democrat administration has closed swim and sports facilities at the Barbican, and not kept their promise to replace them.
We believe that this situation must be redressed by whichever party is next in power.
