THE York Indoor Bowls Club League season finished with some tense, close matches in the play-off finals.
Arguably the pick came in the ladies fours where Helen Walker's team faced Linda Harrison's four.
Walker's team turned around a 17-13 deficit only to drop a single on the last to tie the contest at 18-18 and take it into an extra end, where Walker's team picked up the all-important single.
Paul Allenby's team won the men's pairs title, after racing into a 12-0 lead after only four ends against Charlie Bateman's team en route to a 27-11 win.
The triples went to Joe Day's team, who beat Michael Bruce's team 21-11 after going 13-0 up in five ends.
John Stroughair's experienced side built a 12-1 lead over Dennis Sanderson's team after five ends of the men's fours final to win 30-9.
The mixed pairs final was tight. David Pearson's team had a one shot advantage at 12-11 before Brian Gray's side ran away to win 25-12.
The mixed triples provided another close encounter between John Stroughair's team, who got off to a flier leading Ken Robertson's crew 8-0 after three ends, but three ends later Robertson led 11-8. With two ends to play, the scores were tied at 17-17 but two singles to Stroughair's sealed the win.
