ALTHOUGH not a Greatest Hits Collection, A Hundred Miles Or More is an exquisite and delightful compilation of Alison Krauss's gorgeous back catalogue.
There are a handful of new songs, but most have be sourced from the archives from a myriad of rich sources.
Krauss is still probably best known for her contribution to the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?, so it comes as no surprise to find Down To The River To Pray, but Krauss also enhanced the soundtracks to Cold Mountain and The Prince Of Egypt, which both get a look-in here.
Collaborations with James Taylor and Brad Paisley are more than welcome. Many will enjoy a brace of duets with John Waite, which includes his signature hit Missing You.
Inevitably, Sting has to have a look-in and joins Alison on the tender You Will Be My Ain True Love. An unexpected bonus is the Disney classic Baby Mine from Dumbo.
If you feel like panning for treasures, you will find nuggets of gold on this set.
