Bosses are being asked to give smokers time off work so they can attend clinics to help them quit. What nonsense.
As York GP Dr David Fair says today, if smokers are to succeed in stubbing out their habit, they have to really want to quit.
That means they have to make a commitment and put in some real effort. Bunking off work for a few hours won't help.
