WILBERFOSS Mavericks hope to bounce back to complete a junior football double tomorrow.
The Under-13s have already clinched promotion to the York British Sugar first division with their second successive promotion and will be looking to add more silverware tomorrow when they face Bishopthorpe White Rose in the U13 League Cup.
The Wilberfoss lads will be hoping their 4-3 defeat at Strensall last week - their final league game - will just be a blip on the football radar.
Jack Overton put Wilberfoss ahead after ten minutes and Adam Bell soon added a second when he headed in a Chris Helm corner.
Strensall hit back in style with a brace from Charlie Coupland to make it 2-2 at half-time.
With the title already won, Wilberfoss made several positional chances at the interval and a determined Strensall went 4-2 up as Calum Ward netted twice in the second period.
Craig Mathie went close for Wilberfoss before Overton pulled a goal back, but time ran out and Strensall, who finished third in the division, recorded a fine victory.
