CITY of York Council is obviously working hard to save council taxpayers' money, by saving on expensive architects fees and simply using again the original plans for York's first homeless centre which used to be called "The Work House" or "The Grange", in Huntington Road.
This would explain why the proposed homeless centre in Fishergate looks identical to this building - perhaps austere and a bit depressing, but preferable to some of the Mickey Mouse designs thrown up by developers in our once beautiful city.
Jonathan Charles Bonner, Huntington Road, York.
* WITH reference to the new Peasholme Centre. Has City of York Council gone stark raving mad? I would suggest so.
This new building looks like it should belong to Auschwitz or Belsen.
When it is complete, will we see guards goose stomping outside up and down Fishergate?
Come on City of York Council, get your act together and stop this monstrosity from being built.
Andy Reid, Thistleton Court, Walmgate, York.
