I read with interest John Galvin's curious comments about fears of increased traffic through Bishopthorpe village.
If, however, he had followed the Development Brief debate, he would have realised the fears have no foundation.
If and when an application comes to the planning committee, it is inevitable that it will have a construction management plan to dictate the route construction traffic would follow to give proper protection. I would have expected an ex-councillor to have realised this and must, therefore, conclude he is merely scaremongering.
Coun Richard Watson, Chair, planning committee, City of York Council, York Road Haxby, York.
