YORK Knavesmire Harriers put on capital shows in both London and Paris.
First home for Knavesmire in the sun-baked London Marathon was Ian Anderson, who put in a time of two hours and 47 minutes to finish 283rd with Richard Lowson (2-50) finishing 385th.
Andrew McCormick clocked 3-29, Frank Holden 5-12, Drummond Maxton 5-25, Paul Wilson 5-34 and Richard Yeoman 5-39.
In the ladies race, Jean Snelling had her best marathon finish with third place for her age group (W70) after completing the course in 5-23.
The first Knavesmire woman home was Joy Allen, who clocked 4-07 just five minutes in front of Emma Gradwell.
Other Knavesmire times were Margaret Metcalf (4-17), Carys Murray (4-38), Kristina Hanson (4-43), Gilian Punton (4-56), Jane Hartas (5-16), Paula Fawcett (5-22), Linda Bish (5-24), Linda Bish (5-24) and Maragret Brown (5-39).
Across the English Channel in the equivalent marathon in the French capital of Paris, Janet Cordingley posted a superb 3-43 to be the first woman Harrier home.
Other Knavesmire times from France included Davis Darton (3-43), Colin Lea (3-47), Neil Kingham (3-48), Martin Smith (3-51), Helen Blackburn (3-59), Sue Kelly (4-10), Carol Butterill (4-17), Jed Bycroft (4-19), Joan Heron (4-21), Sally Raines (4-30), Margret Brown (4-41) and Gary Moss (5-00).
Duncan Chambers clocked a marathon personal best at the Lochaber Marathon in Fort William, running 3-35.
