AT 9.30pm on Friday, April 27, I was driving out of York along Hull Road when I saw an obstruction on the dual carriageway between Carlton Avenue and Pinelands Way.
I swerved to avoid it but caught part of it, and realised how dangerous this could be to a motorist or worse, a motorcyclist.
I went round again, and parked with my hazard lights on just behind this obstruction so that I could remove the imminent danger.
The obstruction was a To Let sign (at least, that is what I think it may have been), that had evidently been removed from someone's garden and thrown into the main road.
I would like the person(s) responsible to know just how mindless and dangerous this sort of behaviour is.
And I would like to remind them that this could have resulted in someone close to them being injured, or worse.
How would they then have felt?
