PETER Utley won the third annual Gerald Leslie Kingfisher Cup angling match at Tollerton.

All three lakes at the complex were used and Utley hauled out his winning catch from Heron Lake.

It is the second time that the match has been held at Tollerton which hosted the first competition in 2005.

The match is in honour of keen York angler Gerald Leslie who died in December 2004.

His grand-daughter, Jodie Leslie, is pictured handing over the winner's trophy to Utley, who beat off stiff competition and some impressive weights to take the silverware.

The match was organised by Chris and Bev Jewitt, who also provided post-match hospitality.

The Leslie family have already booked Langwith Lakes for next year's match which will be fished on Saturday, March 29.

Results: 1 P Utley 75lb 4oz (Heron Lake), 2 R Moverley 66-8 (Heron Lake), 3 P Childs junior 54-8 (Heron Lake), 4 B Clay 49-2 (Kingfisher Lake), 5 G Skirie 46-12 (Kingfisher Lake).
