YORK Railway Institute's domination of the York Badminton League's ladies division one continued with two big wins on the road.
They whitewashed University Staff Club and then won 8-1 at Nestlé Rowntree. RI's top performers were Kate Jackson and Karen Wedgewood with 126-50 against Rowntree, whose Melanie Knowles and Helen Shepherd picked up the side's consolation.
Selby/Drax Ladies are having an indifferent season by their standards, but got back to form with a 7-2 victory over University Staff Club inspired by a 126-64 return by Michelle Hall and Alison Dinsdale.
RI Tuesday/Thursday A' continued their good home form with a 5-4 win over Riverside in men's one. Craig Dobson and Alex Fowler won twice for Riverside but lost 19-21, 20-22 to top home pairing Mike Corley and Matt Hitchens.
Clifton A' showed their class with a 9-0 home win over Tadcaster 86. Daniel Woolfson and George Noble topped the averages with 138-97. Tadcaster's Phil Zealand and Andrew Cooper were unlucky to go away empty-handed after playing well for 174-177.
RI Tuesday/Thursday B' beat a depleted Nestlé Rowntree 6-3 in men's two despite Phil Grant and Mark Barker claiming 126-92 for Rowntree.
Mike Lewis and Andy Limbert's three wins helped Knavesmire to a 5-4 win over Clifton C' in men's three.
A close finish in mixed one saw Clifton B' edge a 5-4 win at Shepherds A'. Sean Ogley and Lisa McLaren won twice for the home team but lost out 17 and 16 to unbeaten Kevin Davison and Jill McIntosh, who recorded 132-112.
Clifton A' also won 5-4 at Riverside A', where teenager Alex Fowler and Alison Hyde took straight wins for 131-101 in Riverside's best performance. George Noble and Kamilla Patel stole the match for Clifton with a last-rubber 18 and 18 success.
