TWO York bars are collecting cash for caps as tops fly off to raise money for The Press Guardian Angels appeal.
At bpm, in Rougier Street, and Nexus, in George Hudson Street, every top from every bottle of San Miguel, Fosters Twist, Bulmers Cider and Sirrus sold will be converted into cash for charity.
For every bottle top collected between May 1 and June 30, brewers S&N UK will donate 10p towards our appeal, which aims to build a new high-dependency unit in the children's ward at York Hospital.
Chris Lee, bpm manager, said: "We're trying to encourage our customers to choose these four types of drink because we want to raise as much money as possible.
"They are being really supportive and we've already got about 500 bottle tops after just two days.
"Guardian Angels is one of those appeals everybody has a soft spot for because it's such a worthy cause and we're hoping to raise at least £1,000."
Last year, staff from bpm and Nexus raised a massive £16,000 for the appeal, which is now almost half way towards its target of £300,000.
When the unit is up and running, it will mean more youngsters can be treated in York rather than being transferred.
