DRINKERS in one York village didn't have far to go to cast their vote - the polling station was in the pub cark park.
Regulars at the Red Lion, in Knapton, had to saunter just a few short yards to City of York Council's mobile voting station.
Pub owner Richard Butler said: "We have had a bit of extra trade.
"It has caused a lot of interest. People have been asking why it's here, but are also grateful that it's here, rather than them having to go to Acomb or Rufforth."
He said he and his wife, Tracy, had cast their own votes there, along with many of the villagers.
He said: "There is no disruption except to a bit of the car park and they the election staff are very helpful."
