Perhaps I am being too hard on City of York Council.
After all, three months to remove dangerous barbed wire from a foot/cycle path (Wire warning, The Press, April 24) pales into insignificance when compared with the 15 months it took the local authority to install bollards to prevent stolen cars from being driven along cyclepaths and fields.
These were only installed after a article in The Press December.
I did consider this to be part of the council's mismanagement of the Osbaldwick meadows, which it wishes to cover in housing.
But now I wonder if we are seeing a new Lib-Dem environmental initiative, perhaps called the "no pride inaction line".
