TWO men have been arrested following a police pursuit in North Yorkshire.
Officers were initially called to reports of men in a white van stealing gardening equipment from a property in Thorpe Underwood at about 2.50pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said a white van was found abandoned about 14 miles away in Askham Bryan shortly after, and the NPAS police helicopter was also involved in tracking the suspected offenders.
Members of the public reporting seeing officers running in Main Street, Askham Bryan, and the police spokesman said two men had been arrested in fields nearby.
The spokesman said the men had been arrested on suspicion of theft, failure to stop for police, and dangerous driving, and remain in police custody.
