AFTER reading the lead story “Raising the roof” (The Press, December 16), I wonder if the Minster Trust is planning to replace the modern roof tiles with the traditional old hand-made tiles as near to the original as possible.
Realising they will be expensive perhaps they should ask people to sponsor the tiles at say £5 pound per tile, with their names to be placed on a computer disc along with filmed and photographed work of the restoration.
And to be stored in a time capsule in the roof space for the future builders to see how we did it.
