Lifesaving equipment has been installed outside a village hall near York.
The defibrillator was put in place on the outside wall of Rufforth village hall after councillors from Rufforth with Knapton Parish Council supported and helped fund the project with money from the village's Natural Burial Ground fund.
Linda Milsom, from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, visited Rufforth to give a demonstration to a packed village hall on how to use the equipment.
The Parish Council is also supporting the Village Emergency Telephone Service (VETS), which puts trained volunteers from within the community at the end of a phone line to help support anyone who has to use the defibrillator in an emergency situation.
