York's biggest ever beer and cider festival takes place in a few days' time on Knavesmire, with more than 470 beers.
But the festival hasn't always been as big as it is today.
These photos show some of the York Campaign for Real Ale's festivals of the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s, including in the spectacular Assembly Rooms, the De Grey Rooms and the Priory Street Centre.
