YORK has been given almost a quarter of a million pounds by the Government to help speed up the development of York Central.
The money will be used to help ‘resolve planning issues and other delays’.
In the context of a development on the scale of what is the city’s largest brownfield site, the £224,000 allocated is a drop in the ocean.
But every little helps.
If this money really can help speed up a development that promises up to 2,500 desperately-needed new homes as well as new office space, shops and leisure facilities, it is very much to be welcomed.
We look forward to seeing progress.
