A MOTORIST who failed a roadside drug test and had drugs in a car he was driving on the A64 in North Yorkshire has been arrested.

North Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Group says a concerned motorist flagged down one of its officers on Saturday reporting a white Volkswagen car travelling "erratically" along the A64 eastbound near Malton.

The group tweeted that he tested positive for cocaine and cannabis.

A spokesperson for the group said: "The vehicle was stopped nearby and driver spoken to. He failed a roadside drug test and had a quantity of drugs in the vehicle.

"He has been arrested and will be dealt with for both offences."
