A NORTON county councillor has been tasked with ensuring the views of the county’s younger people are heard.
Keane Duncan - who at 22 is the youngest county councillor in the authority’s history - has been appointed North Yorkshire’s Young People’s Champion for the authority.
Cllr Duncan also serves as Ryedale District Council’s advocate for young people.
He said: “I look forward to building on my work at district level and working with colleagues across North Yorkshire to make sure our policies work for young people and their voice is heard.”
His colleague, Cllr Karin Sedgwick, of Middle Dales, has been chosen as Older Person’s Champion.
