Crew tackle van fire in York
A VAN caught fire in a York street yesterday evening.
A fire crew from Acomb responded to a 999 call at about 6.30pm from the driver of the van after the fire broke out.
It happened in Avenue Terrace, Clifton.
Firefighters used a hosereel jet to put out the fire in the engine compartment.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was caused by an electrical fault.
