THIEVES stole a 4x4 vehicle after breaking into a North Yorkshire home this weekend.
North Yorkshire Police said the burglary happened at a rural property off Haggs Road in Spofforth, near Harrogate, overnight on Sunday, September 17.
A spokesman said: "Offenders have entered the property via an integral garage door, stolen keys for a Landrover Defender and horse tack from within before making off in the vehicle.
"It appears the Defender has then been driven over land onto a farm lane off Follifoot Lane, Kirby Overblow. A second farm located on this lane has also had an outbuilding broken into and items stolen. The Defender was found this morning dumped in a field nearby, potentially due to a mechanical issue."
Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111, quoting job 49 of September 18.
