SELBY library is closing for refurbishment from the end of next week.
Work will soon start to create a dedicated IT zone and an additional meeting room at the centre on Micklegate, Selby, in a project jointly funded by North Yorkshire County Council and Selby District Council
County cllr Greg White said: “This refurbishment will bring a range of benefits to customers, not only in excellent library facilities, but also a flexible space to allow the community to make best use of the venue and online access to an expanded range of county and district council services.”
The project will offer more space for things like Citizens Advice or Selby District Vision and for adult learning sessions.
The library will be closed from March 3 to April 25. People will be able to borrow extra books to cover the closure period and arrangements have been made for home library service deliveries.
