CYCLISTS will enjoy the dawn chorus and walkers will have a Champagne picnic at this year’s Walk Cycle Festival.
The week-long event starts on Sunday, May 27, with a community launch party from 11am to 4pm in Rowntree Park and concludes with World Bicycle Day Ride around York the following Sunday.
The festival, hosted by York Bike Belles with local partner organisations, has daily events around the city featuring a wide range of activities and interests linked by cycling or walking.
The launch party will have free bike checks as well as family activities.
