ROMAN re-enactment soldier Marcus Minicus Mudenus, also known as Dave Grainger, helped launch an annual festival devoted to life in Roman Britain at York Museum Gardens.
The Eboracum Roman Festival runs from June 1 to 3 and events include parades, a walk through of Roman York and a tour of the cellar at Treasurer’s House where ghosts were reportedly seen walking through walls.
York archaeologist Dr Peter Addyman CBE will be giving a talk on June 1 from 7pm at the Yorkshire Museum.
Graham Harris, from the Roman Bath Museum, said: “Visitors will have a great time seeing the Roman Legions marching through the streets of York and there are activities for all the family to enjoy from the Birds of Prey displays, to army drills and the opportunity to get a taste of real Roman life in the Living History Camp."
