A CHURCH on Micklegate was decked out with spectacular flowers as part of a festival.
The theme of the Spring Flower and Music Festival at Holy Trinity, which took place over the Bank Holiday weekend, was 'In a Monastery Garden'.
It is the first time in 18 years that the church has held such an event.
Flower clubs, societies and volunteers helped transform the church with beautiful floral displays throughout the building.
The event also featured three evening concerts by talented musicians, including an organ recital, a performance of Dvorak’s American Quartet and a choral evensong.
Rev Eric Robinson said the festival had been popular with visitors, adding people had travelled from outside the city to take part.
He said: "It's gone very well, we have had lots of visitors - more than we expected. The overall reaction has been very positive. It has been a very special event."
