THE spiegeltents have been dismantled, the Tea Pot flattened, the village-green lawns rolled up, and the Great Yorkshire Fringe has left York after 11 days, but more comedy is just around the corner.
Staff from the Grand Opera House donned hard hats and popped into the White Rose Rotunda to draw attention to the October visit of Simon Beaufoy's Steel City stripping comedy, The Full Monty.
Pictured here are Great Yorkshire Fringe producer Adam Robinson-Witts with Grand Opera House staff members David Rennie, Jamie Richards, Steve Lorains, Sam Ripon and Sam Gray.
The Full Monty will visit the Cumberland Street theatre from October 15 to 20 with a cast featuring York actor Andrew Dunn, Gary Lucy, Louis Emerick, Joe Gill, Kai Owen, James Redmond and Hull actress Amy Thompson. Milkshake! presenter Amy will return to the Grand Opera House to play the title role in the pantomime Cinderella from December 14 to January 5.
The Full Monty, as you know, tells the story of six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers with nothing to lose who decide to become the unlikeliest of strip acts. Tickets for the York run are on sale on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
