A NEW shop with a ‘magical’ twist has appeared in Shambles in York.
Following the trend of The Shop That Must Not Be Named, The Boy Wizard and The World of Wizardry, the latest store opened this weekend.
Potions Cauldron has set up in the former Cuffs & Co shop, and is the brainchild of Phil Pinder.
The shop is decorated in the style of an old-fashioned apothecary with a magical twist and offers specially-concocted drinks including Serpents Venom Poison, Dragons Breath Potion, Basilisk Blood and Lions Road Elixir.
The shop’s owners have even created a backstory for the venue, suggesting the drinks are made to recipes handed down by fictional potion maker Phileas Fry, former resident at 9 3/4 Shambles and creator of a secret wizard room in the shop. To add to the shop’s mystery and advertising, customers are warned: “These potions may bring the answers you seek to the questions you’ve never asked.”
