North Yorkshire firefighters had to deal with a series of incidents caused by Bonfire Night celebrations yesterday evening which saw winds gusting at up to 30mph.
In Sherburn-in-Elmet two garages in neighbouring gardens, garden furniture and fences were damaged when a bonfire got out of control.
Crews from Tadcaster and Selby dealt with the fire.
In Filey, a bonfire spread to part of a nearby house garage and was put out by Filey and Scarborough firefighters.
Rogue fireworks were blamed for a shed fire that was put out by Huntington and Acomb firefighters.
Huntington firefighters also put out a fire that burnt 10 metres of hedge in Strensall and York firefighters were called to a conifer in a Beckfield Lane garden in Acomb, both of which were caused by fireworks.
Several times firefighters were called out to deal with bonfires that local people believed to be out of control, but were not and were being supervised.
