POLICE are investigating an alleged "racially aggravated assault" in York.
It happened on Green Dykes Lane, off Hull Road, with the junction of Barstow Avenue at 9.45am on November 19 and involved a female victim who was walking up the road on her way to work, North Yorkshire Police said.
The force is now appealing for witnesses and information about the assault.
A police spokesperson said: "In particular, we are appealing for information about a suspect female who approached the victim and verbally abused her before physically assaulting her."
The suspect is described as a white female, about 5ft 2ins tall, aged approximately in her early 60s, of medium to large build, with light brown short bobbed frizzy hair, wearing a light grey three-quarter-length padded coat. The suspect had a small Jack Russell type dog with her, which was white with brown patches.
